Do You Create Videos With Adobe Spark?
Adobe Spark is a great resource to create fantastic looking videos to promote your business and services. But did you know you could add a pre-recorded voiceover to your video? Now you can get the benefit of a professional voiceover narration on your self-made videos!
Why Include a Professional Voiceover Narration?
Of course you always have the option to record your own voiceover, but not everyone is comfortable recording and listening to their own voice. A professional voiceover artist not only provides an alternative Voice, they also:

- are trained to deliver a sales message that engages and informs
- gives professional polish and finesse to your video
- convey authority and credibility.

Voiceover For Spark Video – How Do I Add it?
Have you had a quick listen to the Spark Video below? I created this using the Adobe desktop version rather than in the iPad or iPhone app. Why the desktop and not the App? It’s quicker & easier to upload the mp3 from the folders on my computer rather than transferring the audio file into iTunes so it can be selected in the App. I assume it must be possible to add an mp3 into the iTunes app, but I am not familiar with the steps to do this.
So briefly, this is how to add the voiceover:
- Open the video you wish to add the voiceover too, or create a new video in the desktop Adobe Spark Video.
- Click on the ‘Music’ tab at the top right of the screen
- Click ‘Add my music’ . Select the voiceover file from your computer folder. Make sure your voiceover is in MP3 format.
- Your file will then upload and be added to your video automatically.
- Take a listen to the audio and adjust and tweak the length of the screens/slides to fit with the narration.
What comes first – the voiceover script or the video?
In my experience, writing the voiceover script comes first.
The voiceover script will solidify what you want the message of your video to convey. The words you chose for your narration will influence the graphics/photos/video you use. It also directly influences what screen text you will include to emphasise the points that need highlighting.
Make sure you read out loud your voiceover script as you go along. Does it make sense when its spoken? Or do you need to modify the language to improve the flow and understandability? Spend as much time as you can working on the script – its easier (and cheaper!) to make changes at this stage. Reading the script aloud will also help you work out the running time of the final video. Ideally, videos shouldn’t go over 1-2 mins in length.
With regards to your final run time, I added 2 seconds of silence at the end of the voiceover to cover the final Spark Video logo slide
