Is it Possible To Listen in when you record my Voiceover?
Yes of course!
Some clients prefer to leave me to self-direct the voiceover recording after a discussion (usually via email) as to how they wish the final voiceover to sound.
However, if you would like to be involved in the recording session, then you are welcome to listen in.
How do you do this?
There are a few options available:
- A simple method is to listen in over a phone line or SKYPE. I can bring my mobile phone into the booth or set SKYPE running on my iPad, give me a call and you can hear the session over the line. The connection isn’t going through my microphone so you won’t be able to hear the real finer details that the mic picks up, but it will give you a good sense of the read and of course, you can direct as we go along.
- If you would like to hear what’s going through the studio microphone, then we can hook up over the internet using either SourceConnect Now or BodalgoCall. You don’t need any fancy kit your end – just a computer with an internet connection and Google Chrome browser. It’s worth checking that you’re running the most up to date version of Chrome to ensure the best possible connection and experience.
I will email you a link which, when you click on it will connect to my studio enabling you to listen & direct remotely.
3) IPDTL: This is an alternative to the traditional ISDN line. As with SCN and Bodalgo call you will need a good internet connection and Chrome Browser. It isn’t compatible with iOs devices. Again I can send you a link where you will be able to connect remotely.
Whichever method you choose, we can then schedule a convenient time for the session to take place. I shall endeavour to make the recording experience as painless as possible.
